CAHA Covid-19 Coordinator
** All confirmed cases (players & family members), exposures should be reported as part of the CAHA Safety Plan. **
If your player, yourself, or a sibling tests positive for COVID, has a pending test, has had exposure to someone who has tested positive, or are experiencing symptoms please stay home and or get tested in accordance with the MDH decision tree and MDH guidelines.
The association at this point will be following quarantine and exposure tracing done by the MDH/schools. Although every entity has their own guidelines, we feel it is prudent to follow what our local schools are utilizing. So, if the school in accordance with MDH deems a student/player needing to quarantine for 14 days due to a possible COVID exposure, then CAHA will be asking families to quarantine from hockey activity for that amount of time as well. If the exposure happens at the rink, we will be contact tracing per MDH guidelines and guidance to determine potential exposure and quarantine.
To streamline reporting and getting information back to families in a timely fashion, Scott Johnson (Scojo to many of you) will be our point person for this information. Families can e-mail him directly at CAHA.COVID.INFO@gmail.com Families can also inform their coach or level coordinator as well and they will relay information. In the event of a positive test by a player or family member, potential exposure, or quarantine from the player’s school, please notify one of these entities.
Please remember this is not a normal year and we are doing our best to keep the season going, but if we are not following guidelines and safety protocols it could be over before it really gets started.
Most of you with school age children have been given the MDH decision tree for schools. It is a good general tool to utilize in case you are having questions about whether to come to hockey or not as well. We have included the link below.
